Rohit Sharma: We would have bowled first. There is grass on the pitch and I am hoping pitch will hold up. But I am not sure about the outfield as there is lot of dew. We have Bhuvi back in our team, in place of Umesh. It is good to have Buvi back but it is unfortunate for Umesh to miss only after 1 match but team composition is very important.

The stage is all set for Lucknow to unleash it’s new Nawabi stadium to the world. Let’s hope, in the years to come, it reaches up there in the league of Old Trafford, Santiago Bernabeu, Camp Nou and San Siro. An emotionally-charged Lucknow boy, Varun Dixit welcomes you to the coverage of this match. To my left are two Mumbaikars, Vineet and Nikhil who are finding it extremely difficult to fathom my excitement. Well, their city has never waited for 24 long years to get an international match and it’s beyond them to understand it.
Well, the stadium looks a beauty. It is compact and comes across more as a football arena. The structure is such that crowd won’t be that far from the playing area and the noise is set to resonate in the ground. More importantly, it will be packed to the rafters with close to 50,000 fans shouting at the top of their voices.
Of late, in the city of Nawabs, a lot of phone calls have been dialed to relatives/pseudo relatives asking for a ticket. And all the VIP connections have been put to use by the cricket aficionados to be at the hottest location in the town today. The anticipation for this match has been unprecedented in the town and Diwali celebrations for the time being, have taken a backseat. The city of Nawabs has literally come to a standstill.
18:00 Local Time: There are 24 years and 7,590 days between January 22, 1994 and 6th November 2018 and that's how long it took for Lucknow to host an international match. Almost a generation of cricket fans have been denied an opportunity to watch their favorite sport in their city. But the wait is finally over, as Lucknow's 'Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket stadium' becomes India's 52nd International cricketing venue.
